Website hosting for campus departments and other UCSD-affiliated organizations.$50/ month per site includes:
- 1 GB disk space. Additional disk space is $25 per month per GB increment.
- One virtual host name (yourdeptname.ucsd.edu)
- One FTP account
- Streaming hosting (Real, QuickTime)
- ASP.Net, PHP support
- Deep Metrix's Live Stats (statistics software) -
- Web database hosting (MS Access, MS SQL, MySQL)
- Servers housed in 24 hour, secure computer room with conditioned and emergency backup power. Nightly backups.
Payable by recharge (IFIS Index or "budget" number)
FREE hosting is available for:
- Instructional course sites
- UCSD student home pages
- SOLO-registered student organizations
Faculty home pages: check with your home department. ACS does not offer free sites for faculty pages or research.
Development
IWDC Development Process
- Updates to your website for $50 per hour in 15 minute increments.
- Projects small to large, from complete site development to incremental changes.
- Dynamic web pages, data collection, database integration and report generation in ASP.Net or PHP.
- Graphic design
- Flash animation
- Advice on copyright law compliance, UCSD Web Guidelines, accessibility issues, usability.
Streaming
To get started, establish a hosting account for $50/mo. It includes 1 GB storage (also includes the space used by your website if applicable).
We can provide:
- Streaming support in Real and QuickTime
- Live webcasting is $50 per archived event. Non-archived events are free when you have a hosting account.
ON-SITE FILMING & LIVE WEBCASTING
Media Services provides on-site filming, encoding and streaming to our streaming servers.
