Submitting Papers to TurnItIn Integrated with WebCT
If you have turned in papers using TurnItIn, you will be happy to learn that WebCT can now be used to submit papers. You will no longer need a separate login, and you will not need a class password/join ID. Just log in to WebCT to get started.
Submit an Assignment
-
The link to a TurnItIn assignment will show up on a "Content Page" in WebCT - in other words, it will show up among the files and folders posted to WebCT, and not among the tools in the left toolbar (even if there is an assignments tool in the toolbar).
-
The first time you use TurnItIn to submit a paper, you will be asked to agree to TurnItIn's Terms of Service. If you do not agree, speak to your instructor about alternatives.
-
If TurnItIn complains of a problem with your cookies, go back to the WebCT home page and re-enter the assignment. Most of the time, TurnItIn will not complain a second time.
-
To submit a paper, click the icon next to the assignment. Clicking on the assignment name will bring you some assignment settings. Below the assignment name are listed the start date (to the left) and the end date (to the right).
-
Enter a title for your paper, select a file to upload, and click "Submit".
-
Confirm that TurnItIn received your entire paper, and click "Yes, submit".
-
TurnItIn will again confirm that they received your paper properly, and give you a Paper ID. You can record this as a digitial receipt.
Reviewing Grades
-
If your instructor uses TurnItIn to directly grade your assignment, your grades will be returned in WebCT's My Grades tool. A green star next to the My Grades tool indicates that new grades are available to you.
